Swarm. The swarm can occupy another creature's space and vice versa, and the swarm can move through any opening large enough for a Tiny coin. The swarm can't regain hit points or gain temporary hit points.

Shapechanger. The mimic can use its action to polymorph into an object or back into its true, amorphous form. Its statistics are the same in each form. Any equipment it is wearing or carrying isn't transformed. It reverts to its true form if it dies.

Adhesive (Object Form Only). The mimic adheres to anything that touches it and gains advantage on the attack to creatures it is attached to. Creatures can use their action to remove 1d6+dex or 1d6+str attached coins each turn.

False Appearance (Object Form Only). While the mimic remains motionless, it is indistinguishable from an ordinary object.

Actions

Multiattack. The swarm makes one Sequential Bites attack, one Bites attack and two Leap attacks.

Sequential Bites. Any creature with coins attached to them are attacked with advantage by those coins. Melee Weapon Attack: +8 to hit, reach 0 ft, one target. The creature takes 1 piercing damage plus 2 (1d4) acid damage per coin.

Bites. Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 7 (1d6 + 4) coins attach itself to the target. 1 piercing damage plus 2 (1d4) acid damage per coin.

Leap. Part of the swarm leaps at a target in range. Ranged Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 15 ft., one target. Hit: 7 (1d6 + 4) coins attach itself to the target.

Legendary Actions
The swarm can take 3 legendary actions, choosing from the options below. Only one legendary action option can be used at a time and only at the end of another creature's turn. The swarm regains spent legendary actions at the start of its turn.

Leap. The swarm makes one Leap attack.

Catapult Leap. One coin is catapulted at a target in range. Ranged Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 40 ft., one target. Hit: 14 (2d10 + 3) bludgeoning damage and 1 coin attaches itself to the target. The target is pushed 5 ft. away from the swarm and must succeed on a DC 14 Strength Saving Throw of be knocked prone.

Rampaging Bites (Costs 3 Actions). The swarm makes one Bites attack at every creature in range. Additionally, each target must succeed on a DC 15 Wisdom Saving Throw or be frightened for 1 turn.

Export

The Swarm of Coin Mimics tend to hibernate in large wooden chests, or other places where money is typically kept.

    Mimic. From a distance, the swarm will look like a pile of gold, silver and copper coins, with various items collected within the pile. The Coin Mimics will wait until some unsuspecting plunderer reaches a hand into the pile to scoop up the coins. Then the coins will stick to the person's hand and jump out to attack.

    Pack Hunters. Unlike their larger brethren, Coin mimics are pack hunters and will actively seek out more of their kind. Individually they are weak, but as a pack, they can rival creatures many times their size.
